We would really appreciate that some of our best episodes have come directly from listeners Okay, Julie, so I have three different options to talk about today, and the first one will not be a surprise at all. It's kind of the new kid on the block when it comes to cruises, and it specializes in 18 and over cruises, and that's Virgin Voyages. So when you think of Virgin Voyages from the work that you've done with them, from the training that you've done, what comes to mind?

The first thing that comes to mind whenever I think of virgin voyages is two things. One, there's no kids, and two, you can shake your app to get a drink.

and they are also known as a foodie cruise. fitness lovers cruise. They have tons of wellness activities. it sounds fun. I want to go.

I think they're also known for having a lot more included than other cruises. From when I've researched them and booked them, they always seem to have more inclusions in their pricing.

when you're talking about Virgin Voyages, you're talking about all of your food. So there's no extra upcharge for specialty dining. You've got free Wi Fi. you have your gratuity or tips are included, your soda and water is included, you have your entertainment, you have taxes and fees, and group fitness classes all included. Their drinks are very inexpensive and they will often have specials having to do with, your bar tab, you know, so you put so much down and Virgin will match it One of the things I really like about Virgin Voyages, they started out Of Miami and now they've started to go all over the world, they specialize in both longer and shorter cruises So if you're looking for a weekend getaway from southern florida They've got you if you're looking for that traditional mediterranean cruise They've got you they have a beach club at bimini in the caribbean super close to florida And they have made that a beach party. And again, everything's included. So you go there, you party, you don't have to worry about all these special excursions. It's just there for you. I really want to do it. It sounds like a lot of fun.

So I'm going to highlight today, a special cruise. That shows what the cruise line is about. I went with one of their classic cruises, The fire and sunset soiree cruise. So I want to talk a little bit about that cruise It is a four night cruise and it is starting in miami heading to key west Sailing and then going to beach club at benemy and then back to miami florida So again, this is super good for a decent long weekend or a little getaway right out of florida I want to look at March 5th of 2025. So the beginning of spring break, which I know this is an adult's cruise, but we're looking at that time. The weather's starting to get better

Ryan, as a parent with kids in elementary school, it's almost easier to do an adult trip when the kids are off school

someone else to take them to and from. So going while the kids are on spring break sometimes makes sense.

Absolutely, I like that. So to give you some comparison here, Julie. So they've got anything from an insider cabin to a sea view to a sea Terrace to a rock star suite. if we look at let's see, we tend to like to put people in a Terrace, right? So a sea Terrace is going to have a private balcony with hammock a roomy rain shower mood lighting. transformational sofa bed. So basically it allows you to change your bed into a sofa and your sofa into a bed. You're looking at 18. 02 per cabin for that four night cruise.

let's bump it up a little bit. look at the Rockstar quarters. These have exclusive Richards Rooftop access. this is their concierge club. you have a Rockstar agent that helps you in planning your cruise. while you're on the cruise, you are stocked and ready to rock with an in room bar. You have early priority access. And booking, your dining reservations, even though they're included. You do have to do dining reservations, all of your activities, things like that. And you have a large, luxurious shower. that is 3, 912 per suite. for two adults. I'm really impressed with that pricing, with everything that is included with Virgin. So the next cruise line I want to talk about is Viking. And we tend to think of Viking With river cruises, but remember when Mary Trotter was on a couple months ago we have river cruising ocean cruising and expedition cruising.

So they are very beautiful at their smaller ships except for the ocean ones You know to me it just feels like a really nice cruise line to recommend. You're gonna have a nice elevated experience

Yeah, and so this is a very different, feeling than virgin,

absolutely. when we talked with Mary, she said, Viking is the thinking person's cruise. There's a lot of emphasis on education immersive. Shore excursions. you've got a lot of things included as far as your food. You've got, your beer and wine served with meals. You've got your shore excursions. You've got all that stuff that is part of the Viking experience. I want to talk about a very different cruise. the British Isles Explorer, Julie. this is an ocean cruise. I'm going to choose this in September. So again, we're getting away from kids traveling, even though they're not going to be on this cruise. They're also not going to be as much where we are. And so this is a 15 day cruise. You have 12 guided tours and excursions included, and you go to six different countries, Julie. you start in Bergen, Norway, go to the Shetland Islands in Scotland, the Highlands in Scotland, Edinburgh, you go to the Orkney Islands, you go to the Highlands again, another section, then you go to Belfast, Northern Ireland, Liverpool, England, Hollyhead, Wales, You go to Dublin, you do a sailing day through the English Channel, then you go to Dover, England, then you end your time in London. Does that not sound absolutely amazing?

so I want to talk about how much a cruise like this would cost If we're looking at September in 2025, London to Bergen, you've got per person. It starts at 9, 799. So more expensive, of course, but it's a much longer and more, immersive cruise. Then what our Virgin was, and they also have air Viking will do your air for you. So they have air starting at 1499 when it comes to, getting yourself over to London and back from Bergen.

Yes, absolutely. So we've got Virgin, we've got Viking, and then I want to talk about one more great adults only cruise line. But first I want to talk about where in the world is all things travel, Julie.

a new location for us this week is Fresno, California. Fresno is known for a lot of things, but the thing that really caught my eye is the Forestier Underground Gardens. take a tour off Highway 99 and visit Fresno's best kept secret, a hand built network of underground rooms, Courtyards and passageways reminiscent of the ancient catacombs. There's unique fruit producing trees, shrubs, and vines growing underground, some over 90 years old. It has architecture like ancient Roman ruins, arches, vaults, and stone built walls. Underground microclimates can range 10 to 30 degrees in difference. it's also the underground home of a Sicilian visionary and self taught artist and builder, Baldassare Forestier. Does that not sound fun?

Silver Sea is part of the Royal Caribbean family. you have Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silver Sea. Silver Sea is not exclusively adults only, but it's very adult focused, and there are very few. Few children that go on Silver Sea Cruises.

Yeah, yeah, purely almost based on the pricing of Silversea based on what you get for it. It's a very luxury cruise line

when you are booking Silver Sea, you have. some unique things. you have door to door all inclusive service. they pick you up at home. They take you to the airport. They've taken care of your flights. You get to the airport where your cruise is. They pick you up. You go directly to the ship. You have personalized service. All suites and they call all of the room suites. All of their suites have a butler that is included. You have fine dining and all of their suites are ocean view with balconies. So very high end as far as the inclusions and the level of service. let's talk about. Going to Alaska. I'm going to look at, September of 2025, because less kids at the ports in Alaska and less, opportunity for kids to be on your cruise. So we have Vancouver to Seward, and that is September 4th to 11th. if we look at door to door service, that's them picking you up at home, driving you to the airport, they've taken care of your air, they pick you up, they take you to the ship, and vice versa, coming home. if we look at a superior veranda suite, or a deluxe veranda suite, we're looking at 14, 200 for two adults.

Which is definitely a difference compared to Viking and Virgin that we talked about earlier, but a very different experience
